Why Right To Work is Wrong

FIGHT FOR YOUR RIGHTS
Proposed legislation, backed by employers, will jeopardize MNA's resources, which puts our wages, practice, workplace rights and our patients at risk.

Here's what else you can expect: | |
| No Resources | The law would handcuff MNA's ability to collect resources. If everyone who uses and benefits from something and doesn't chip in to help pay for it, our resources are spread thin. Management would love for us to have a union with lots of free riders and little or no resources. In Nebraska where "right to work" is the law, the workplace rights of 11,000 workers rely on one single business agent because the union cannot afford to hire more staff. |
| No Power | Because of the strength of MNA's numbers and our contract, our employer is obligated to listen to our concerns about patient care and our own health and safety. |
| No Justice | So-called "right to work" legislation gives corporations unlimited power. It's a coordinated effort by health care systems, insurers, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, right-wing groups and highly paid lobbyists to silence nurses from speaking up for our patients. It hurts working families, takes away workers' rights and weakens our union's voice at work. |
