Commission on Education
The Commission on Education is comprised of eleven Commissioners. The Commissioners are elected at large by the MNA membership. Commissioners represent the following areas: 6 educators with representation from the various educational and practice settings; 1 administration; 1 community health; 2 staff nurses and 1 at large.
The Commission on Education is charged in the MNA bylaws with the following responsibilities:
- Provide resources for information to be disseminated regarding formal nursing education and continuing nursing education;
- Set policy and enable the administration of the educational offerings of MNA and collaborate with MNA operational units to provide continuing education offerings;
- Evaluate the emerging trends in formal nursing education and continuing education in nursing;
- Provide review and recommendation on nursing education issues;
- Promote the initiation, dissemination and utilization of nursing research; and
- Initiate, facilitate and use educational research.
