Staff/Consultation
The role of the MNA Labor Relations Staff Specialist working with the E and GW program are:
To the local group being represented for services related to organizing the bargaining unit;
For developing and implementing the collective bargaining process and administration of the contract;
To the E and GW Commission for implementation of the G and GW program in accordance with House of Delegates and Commission policy; and,
Through the Executive Director, to the MNA Board of Directors for reports and recommendations which are related to articulation and coordination with other MNA programs.
The Staff promotes and interprets all MNA programs as part of the educational process with members involved in the E and GW program and facilitates communications between the Association and the local group. The staff role also includes identifying areas needing further study within the program.
The MNA Staff will assist the local chairperson in processing individual grievances and, on occasion, act as the advocate in arbitration proceedings. The local E and GW steward is responsible for processing the first step of the grievance procedure.
MNA Staff are paid employees of the Association.
