Minnesota Board of Nursing & Regulatory Issues
The proposals regarding LPN scope of practice being recommended by the Board's Practice Committee still contain concerns.
At the August 5 meeting of the Minnesota Board of Nursing, the Board's Nursing Practice Committee submitted its formal recommendation regarding the LPN scope of practice issue.

Interstate Compact
The MBON full board met on Apr. 1 and MNA leaders were invited to present MNA's opposition to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing's solution to address nursing mobility and telehealth. The Nurse Licensure Compact must be passed by state legislators. No changes in the language is allowed even if states find questionable requirements, or want to add additional patient and legislative protections. MNA has consistently opposed the Compact. Now, as part of a multistate union, MNA has the opportunity to collaborate with other non-Compact states (still the majority after ten years), and other nursing organizations also in opposition to the Compact (such as ANA), in seeking a solution that better protects the safety of patients and nurses.
